"朱鷺色" (tokiiro, "crested ibis color") — also written "鴇色" — describes the extremely pale red visible on the wings and tail feathers of the crested ibis in flight. It is slightly deeper than Cherry Blossom Pink and a little lighter than Peach. The name first appeared as a dye color during the Edo period, reportedly made with safflower. It remains a beloved color among women to this day.
