A deep blue-purple. The name derives from the purple dye extracted from purple gromwell (Lithospermum erythrorhizon) that grew wild in Musashino during the Edo period. It is characterized by a strong blue tone, whereas Kyoto Purple (#9d5b8b) has a stronger red tone.
