Defined as "dark grayish yellow-green" in the JIS standard. A dark yellowish-green like the green algae Codium fragile (sea staghorn). This algae grows in clusters on rocks below the tide line and is edible. The color name is said to date back to the Kamakura period and is still used today in clothing and household goods.
