A bright purple like the flowers of heliotrope (Heliotropium arborescens), a small shrub of the Boraginaceae family. Its small, fragrant flowers bloom from summer to autumn. Native to Peru, it is cultivated as an ornamental and also used in perfume. Heliotrope is a heliotropic plant — its leaves and stems respond to sunlight by growing toward the sun.
