A reddish-yellow like the bark of the mountain cherry (yama-zakura), appearing as a somewhat deep orange. Japan has a traditional woodcraft called "樺細工" (kaba-zaiku, birch craft), but it is not actually related to birch — the material is mountain cherry bark, also called "櫻皮細工" (sakura-kawa-zaiku).
