Defined as "vivid greenish-blue" in the JIS standard. A light blue with a hint of green. The name originally referred to the color of fresh scallion leaves, though the actual blue is stronger and lighter. During the Edo period, commoners favored lining their haori jackets with light blue-green cotton cloth. Even after the trend faded, provincial samurai and lower-ranking warriors continued the practice, earning them the nickname "浅葱裏" (asagi-ura, "light green linings").
